Celesta, five skills in-house.
Fireworks, special effects, video mapping, sound and light, multimedia staging. We design, produce and deliver all five in-house, from Aigremont in the Yvelines and from Normandy.
- More than 1,000 shows
- Five in-house disciplines
- France and more than 20 countries

Five disciplines under one roof
With us, the five skills are written, produced and delivered by the same teams, on a single time-code, and our site manager arbitrates the timing between the disciplines.
- One piece of writing, which starts from the story
- A single time code for lighting, sound and video
- One person in charge on site, from set-up to dismantling
Our five skills
Each can be ordered on its own.

Pyrotechnic show
The traditional craft. A fireworks display, timed to a specific schedule, carried out by F4-T2-certified salaried pyrotechnicians.

Special effects
Controlled flames, cold sparks, mist and confetti. Effects played out on the floor and at audience level.

Video mapping
Projection on a façade: building survey, optical alignment, images written for this building.

Sound and light show
Architectural lighting and sound design. We use it for long-running shows.

Multimedia production
Performers on stage and a written script, in which other art forms serve as a means to an end.

Choosing the discipline after the story
We are often called for a mapping or for drones. We start with two questions: what should remain the next day, and what the venue allows. A listed façade, close neighbours or an audience of ten thousand do not lead to the same choice, and we say so before quoting.
- The venue rules out some disciplines even before the question of budget
- A noise constraint leads to light rather than fire
- A planned filming changes the scenography as much as the display
Qualifications, depot and application
Qualifications
F4-T2-certified pyrotechnicians, who are employees of Celesta and have been specifically named. Drone light flights carried out in accordance with the framework set by the DGAC.
Storage and traceability
A licensed storage facility in its own right. Products are tracked individually, from storage right through to the launch pad, without going via an intermediary supplier.
The regulatory dossier
We prepare the application, file it with the relevant services and take responsibility for it, whatever the discipline used on the night.
Our recent shows
All disciplines combined, in the order in which the performances took place.

Your questions about our skills
Can several disciplines be combined in a single performance?
This is the format we produce most often. The mapping opens, the sound carries the story, the pyrotechnics sign off the end: everything is set to a single time-code. As the five disciplines are in-house, combining them requires no coordination between providers.
Are drone shows part of Celesta’s range of services?
Yes, but it is a discipline in its own right, with its own regulatory framework and its own timetable: a minimum of forty-five days is required to authorise a flight. It has its own dedicated page, where the subject is covered in full rather than summarised here.
Does Celesta outsource any of the five disciplines?
None. Writing, production, storage and execution stay in-house. That is why a single quote covers everything.
Which sport should you choose when you’re on a tight budget?
We prefer a short, written display to a drawn-out set-up, and choose lighting when the duration exceeds that of a display. We propose the discipline that best serves your story within the budget you have.
How far in advance of the event should we get in touch with you?
The minimum lead time is one month for a pyrotechnic show and forty-five days for a drone flight. The design and production stages, meanwhile, take between three and six months. Contact us with the longer of the two in mind.
Do you operate outside France?
Yes, in more than twenty countries to date. The ICPE-classified depot supports production in France, then each application is adapted to local requirements: licences, customs and transport of products. The artistic direction stays with Celesta.
