Le Havre is celebrating its tramway with a multimedia show

A rebuilt city, a transport system that is reinventing itself

Rebuilt after the war according to Auguste Perret’s plans, Le Havre has made the regeneration of its tram network a symbol of modernity. The inauguration was accompanied by a multimedia show designed to highlight this link between architectural heritage and contemporary transport.

Lighting and video mapping to accompany an opening ceremony

Illuminated station signage and video mapping highlighted the clean lines of Le Havre’s architecture. The show was timed to coincide with the new train’s first official journey, the highlight of the opening ceremony.

Working on a World Heritage Site

The rebuilt city centre of Le Havre is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, which means there are strict rules governing any lighting or projections onto the façades. The teams worked in consultation with the city’s heritage departments to approve each installation.

A symbol of modernity for the city of Le Havre

By organising a show to mark the arrival of the tram, the city was able to present this infrastructure not simply as a completed construction project, but as a step towards the sustainable transformation of its living environment.
